Care in Haslemere is a good neighbour scheme which provides transport for people in need to get to a GP surgery, hospital and all other medical appointments.

Care provides lifts for people living in Haslemere and the surrounding villages who are unable to use or have difficulty with public transport. We mainly take people to clinics such as doctors and dentist surgeries, opticians and local hospital departments, but we often go to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and sometimes to appointments further afield, including London.
Volunteers use their own cars and provide a very personal service taking people to their appointments, often waiting with them and then returning them to their homes.

Care in Haslemere

"Having moved here from the Haywards Heath area some nine months ago, my wife Maureen and I have been very impressed and grateful for the services and help we have received from “Care in Haslemere”, and in many ways. In particular, the kind and generous volunteer drivers have been such a boon, now that we can no longer drive and have needed to make visits to hospitals, medical practices and so on, on journeys both long and short. They are worthy of our thanks and praise indeed." Mr P.F. December 2016
